BIG IDEA The Patagonia Black Hole Duffel can withstand the forces of nature.
Guerilla Marketing Execution: Interactive Installation
An interactive installation that allows you to pummel a Patagonia Black Hole Duffel with rain, snow, or dirt to see how it holds up against the elements.
This public installation features a Patagonia Black Hole Duffel in a glass chamber, temporarily obscured by a black screen.
A person presses “BEGIN” on the screen and receives the second message. When the person presses one of the buttons, the black screen fades to reveal the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel inside the glass box.
The product is then subjected to whichever element was selected (rain, snow, dirt). Once the bag is subjected to the elements for about 10 seconds, the black screen returns to the glass surface with a message about the product.
New Media Execution:
Video Game on Microsite
A video game on a microsite that allows you to attack different kinds of bags with the elements. The Patagonia Black Hole Duffel is the only one that can withstand the forces of nature.

This game allows the user to enter a live, multiplayer server where they can attempt to destroy the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel and other bags made with inferior materials. The game is played from a first-person perspective in real-time with other people from around the world.
Users have the option to pummel the bags with snow, water, or dirt. They can attack the bag on all sides and a target helps aim their strikes. First, the user is introduced to a canvas bag and a leather bag, which are easily destructible. The last bag in the game is the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel. The user is unable to do lasting damage to the bag, demonstrating its durability and weather-proof features.
